    * **Spacebound Discovery**

The alarm screamed, a shrill, insistent shriek in the otherwise silent void. Anya fumbled for the off switch, her gloved hand bumping against the cold metal of the console. 6:00 AM, Kepler-186f time. Time for another day of… nothing.

She floated out of her sleep cubicle, the microgravity a familiar comfort. The ‘Sunflower,’ their research vessel, was a self-contained ecosystem drifting in the inky blackness, a tiny speck against the backdrop of swirling nebulae. Six months. Six months since they left Earth, six months since she felt the sun on her skin, six months since she saw another human face that wasn’t one of her two crewmates.

Liam, the botanist, was already in the hydroponics bay, his brow furrowed as he examined a wilting pepper plant. “Morning, sleepyhead,” he muttered, his voice tinged with the same weary resignation that infected them all.

“Anything exciting?” Anya asked, more out of habit than expectation.

Liam shook his head. “Aphids, I think. Space aphids. Apparently, nothing is sacred.”

Across the narrow corridor, Dr. Chen, the mission’s geologist, was hunched over a holographic display, his fingers dancing across the controls. He was obsessed with Kepler-186f, a potentially habitable exoplanet light-years away. He’d petitioned for years to get this mission approved, convinced it held the key to humanity’s future. Now, staring at the endless stream of data, even his optimism seemed to be waning.

Anya made herself a tasteless nutrient paste and joined Chen. “Anything new?”

He sighed, pushing a stray strand of grey hair from his face. “Just more rocks, Anya. Beautiful rocks, mind you, but rocks nonetheless. No signs of life, no detectable atmosphere.”

Days bled into weeks, then months. Routine was their enemy, and boredom, their constant companion. Anya, a trained astrophysicist, spent her time calibrating the sensors, scanning the stars, searching for anomalies, for anything that might break the monotony. She found nothing.

One evening, as she stared out at the swirling cosmos, a small, flickering light caught her eye. It was faint, almost imperceptible, but it was there. She zoomed in with the telescope, her heart pounding in her chest. It wasn’t a star, it was… artificial. A satellite.

She called Chen and Liam, her voice trembling with excitement. “I think… I think I found something.”

They crowded around the screen, their faces illuminated by the ghostly glow of the display. The satellite was small, battered, and clearly ancient, but it was undeniably of artificial origin.

Chen, his eyes wide with disbelief, ran simulations, his fingers flying across the keyboard. “It’s… it’s not human. It’s… something else.”

The discovery electrified them. They spent days studying the satellite, analyzing its trajectory, trying to decipher its purpose. They found nothing conclusive, but the sheer existence of it, out there in the vast emptiness of space, was enough. They weren’t alone. Humanity wasn’t alone.

As the Sunflower began its long journey back to Earth, Anya looked back at the receding stars. Kepler-186f remained a mystery, but the universe had revealed a secret. A silent message, whispered across the void, a testament to the enduring power of life, in all its strange and wonderful forms. The nothingness, she realized, was filled with possibilities.

  • Emails

    Emails

We get a lot of them.

    Everyday.

    We send them out, too.

Some of them are ones we need.

    Some we were waiting for.

Others are spam and junk and promotional stuff.

  • Restart

    Restart

    If only we can.

    But we can’t.

    Life isn’t a video game

That you can play over and over again

Or a movie that you can rewind back to the start again.

There is only one direction we can go

    And that’s forward.

    We cannot go back.

    We can’t go backwards.

    We can’t restart.

    There is no restart.

    There is no reset.

    Life’s not an audio tape.

  • Collections

    Collections

    We collect collections.

    Collections can be anything.

    From comics

    To video games

    To books

    To cards

    To figurines

    And anything else in between.

    Collections are fun to collect.

Adding to them feels like a small accomplishment.

Watching them grow and change over time is awesome.

They can also bring about a sense of nostalgia.

You can think about memories of the past from them.

  • Dogs

    Dogs

    Man’s best friend.

    They’re loyal.

    They’re playful.

    They’re cute.

    They’re fluffy.

They come in all shapes and sizes.

    Dogs are amazing creatures.

    They are our best friends.

    They’re our fur babies.

They are there for us when we need them.

  • Winter

    Winter

    It is cold.

    It’s freezing.

    It’s brick out.

    It is cold outside.

    It is freezing outside.

    It is brick outside.

    The weather is not warm.

The weather is the opposite of hot.

    It’s not summer.

    It’s winter.

It is the season of snow

    And the season of ice.

Gotta bundle up to stay warm.

  • Something

    Something

    Something something something.

    Something’s something.

    Something is something.

    Something is a something.

    Something is some thing.

    Some thing is something.

    Something is not nothing.

Something is the opposite of nothing.

    Something is a thing.

    A thing is something.

    Something is something.

  • Back in the grind

    Back in the grind

I am back in the grind.

After publishing my novel, I feel more energized.

I feel like now I am back in the swing of things with my writing.

I feel like now that a weight has been lifted.

It took a long time to write my book.

But now it’s published and I am working on getting it distributed.

Now, I got to market it.

That could be a challenge a bit.

    But that’s ok.

    Challenges are where I thrive.

    Nothing comes easy.

    It never does.

    Nothing ever comes easy.

    It takes time.

    It all takes time.

All of it takes a whole bunch of time.

    Writing, publishing, promoting.

All of it is part of the whole writing process.

And of course, the most important thing for a writer is to write.

I have been remiss to post on here for the past few years.

I wanted to focus my writing energy on my novel.

But now, since I finished my book, I want to post some more poetry on here.

Maybe even short stories and whatnot.

I also do want to maybe post some reviews as well.

    There’s a lot I want to do.

And of course, I will work on writing future novels as well.

But for now, I want to get some more content on my blog on here.

  • 2024

    2024

    2024.

    A new year,

    A new….

    Well, I don’t know.

    To be honest,

The last few years have felt the same,

    Like nothing’s changed.

It’s like things have stayed the same.

These past few years have blurred together.

    I know time has passed

    And things have changed,

But there is also that feeling of sameness,

    Like nothing has changed.

I don’t know how to explain it.

    What will 2024 bring?

    Who knows?

Will it be better than last year?

    I don’t know.

What I do know is, the year just started,

And we gotta take it one day at a time.

  • Kanye

    Kanye

    Fucking Nazis.

What’s happening to Kanye’s so sad.

    He’s being taken advantage of

    By Neo Nazis

And has become the face of white supremacy.

They’re weaponizing his condition against him

    And taking advantage of him,

And he doesn’t even see it.

    It’s disgusting.

    It’s abhorrent.

And the saddest part is, they don’t give a shit about him.

    Not one bit.

    If they have their way,

He would be the first to go.

    He’s spreading hatred and bigotry

To millions of people with his platform.

He’s normalizing white supremancists’ ideas for them.

He has the potential to radicalize people with his hateful rhetoric and ideas.

    It’s dangerous.

    It’s horrid.

    It’s sad.

He has to be called out and held accountable for his actions,

And so do the people who Kanye associates with.

    They all do,

And anyone else who spreads hateful messaging.

They all need to be held accountable,

And Kanye needs to get help.

    He needs to get treatment.

    I doubt he’ll read this,

But on the off chance he does,

    Kanye,

I loved your music back in the day.

    Your songs were great.

I really liked your old music a lot.

But now, seeing you like this,

    A white supremacist,

    A fascist,

    I can’t rock with this.

I won’t put up with it.

    It’s disturbing to see

You’re the complete opposite from who you used to be.

    And it’s scary to see.

I have friends who are racial minorities.

    I, myself, am mixed race.

To see this country full of hate,

And to see this shit spread

    On the mainstream web,

    Is just disturbing to see,

    And it makes this country

    Feel unsafe for me.

    I worry about my friends.

I don’t want anything to happen to them.

    They’re like family.

And to see this shit spread like wildfire

    Is disheartening to me.

It’s hard to process or believe

    What’s been happening.

    It’s all crazy.

    It’s all fucked up.

    It’s all messed up.

It’s all twisted, turned upside down.

I don’t know what will happen.

    These times are uncertain.

But I do know is, you have to remain positive.

I know that’s easier said than done,

    Especially in these times.

    Make new friends,

    Meet new people,

Keep in touch with friends you do have,

    Network,

Do hobbies and things you like.

    Whatever brings you happiness,

Do it, to a reasonable degree.

    Hold onto your money,

    For things might get bad.

Stay close to your friends and fam.

Whomever makes you happy, hold onto them.

You need to have as much support as you can during these troubling times.
