He is making the same mistake that is a bipartisan mistake, that goes across political lines, that both President Bush and President Obama made before him. You try to vilify a leader of another state, whether it’s Saddam Hussein in Iraq, or Muammar Gaddafi in Libya, which is what happened under Obama. You vilify this leader, you invade the country, try to destroy the country, and think you have a victory. That has been proven absolutely wrong! It is a strategic quagmire that has sucked the United States into the Middle East, drained our resources, killed our soldiers, and devastated those countries to no positive effect! We had Iraq under President Bush. We had more than 100,000 troops there and have never been able to stabilize it. It is more anti-American today than it ever was. It is more of a threat to the United States today than it ever was. The same thing with Libya that happened under President Obama. We had the exact same thing. It’s been a few days into 2020, and already, there is the real possibility of war between Iran and the United States. Trump had recently ordered an assassination on Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, who was one of the top generals in Iran. I don’t know much about Soleimani, but from what I had heard about him, he was not the best individual, morally-speaking. However, regardless of whether or not he was a “bad person,” was he a direct threat? I think not. There are talks that he threatened an attack on the US embassy in Iran, however, from what I have seen, nothing serious came out of it. For the most part, his threats were nothing more than just words, not actions! However, the US assassinated him, essentially basing their justifications on talks, rumors, and words, instead of concrete actions! Don’t get me wrong, though! I am all about taking necessary steps to preventing imminent attacks to protect people. However, there has to be concrete evidence, beyond a shadow of a doubt, proving that an attack was imminent! So far, nothing of that nature has been presented. The only reason that was given was that it was to “prevent a war!” Well, I don’t think that’s doing much, for now, Iran wants to retaliate, and understandably so! Thus, Trump ordered an attack on a sovereign nation’s top military commander based on faulty logic and BS information! In fact, Trump ordered the attack without Congressional approval! This situation has turned out to be a disaster in the making. And what’s ironic is that Trump complained on Twitter during Obama’s presidency that Obama was going to start a war with Iran to get re-elected. That didn’t happen. However, Trump is up for re-election in 2020, and currently, as of writing this, there is a real possibility of war with Iran, and that’s not under Obama; it’s under Trump! How ironic. And Trump’s response is that he is ready to send thousands of troops at any moment! Oh God! Let’s just hope they don’t enact another draft!
