  • What Is Nothing?

    What Is Nothing?

    What is nothing?

    Is it something?

    Is it anything?

    Is it everything?

Is it just a mere illusion?

Is it a product of our own imagination?

Is it something that’s even worth noting?

Is it something that does no truly exist?

Is it a state you can’t comprehend?

Is it a debate you can’t truly win?

Is it something that no one can sense?

Is it a question that’s answerless?

Or is it just simply nothing?

  • Pacifism

    Pacifism

It hurts a lot inside us

When we see so much violence.

Peace is what we want most,

But that cannot happen when there exists systemic oppression.

We don’t want people hurt, to suffer or die.

We don’t want people to lose their lives.

We value human life. We see the good and potential that people have inside.

We want people to be free, be happy, and be caring.

We want people to live life without fear of being victims of cruelty.

We want to live in a world where no one hurts one another and where we all treat each other like sisters and brothers.

We’d all care for each other. We’d all be like family.

How will we get there? I have no idea.

Are there peaceful solutions? I hope that there are.

In fact, I believe that there are.

One thing’s for sure; I am a pacifist.

    I’m against using violence.

I don’t want to hurt others.

I care a lot about people.

Hurting them, to me, is evil.

  • Black Lives Matter

    Black Lives Matter

Here is some artwork I made. It is of the Black Lives Matter fist.

Now, I don’t really have a poem to along with my artwork, so instead, I will include this Black Lives Matter poem that I really liked. Enjoy!

    “The American Dream” by Marri

    Let me tell y’all something:
The white man don’t care about our suffering.
The privilege is too bright to see us.

The white man don’t care about us.
The white man wants to see us get shot,
The white man wants to see us wither and perish.

But who built America on their backs,
    Bare handed, and
    Whipped into submission?

    We did.

    We will take back America.
We will take back our streets,
Paved with the blood and tears of our people.
    This is our America.

Not whitewashed and stained red with racism.

    This is your America.
Where when we say, “Stop! Don’t shoot!”
    You shoot anyways.

    This is your America.
Where when we say, “I can’t breathe.“
    You continue to suffocate us.

    This is your America.
    Where when we say, “Help.”
You continue to let us suffer.

    This is your America.
Where the president calls us thugs,
And threatens to shoot us and our freedom.

    This is not my America.

    This is your America.
Where you shoot us for having cell phones.
Where you terrorize our sons and daughters.
Where you **** us for being black.

    Who gonna protect us?
Not cops drunk on their own power and superiority.
Not the president blinded by racism.
Not our white “allies” who stand by and watch us burn.

    But if we burn,
    You burn with us.

    If you **** us,
    You die with us
    .

    We tried peace,
    We tried awareness,

But we always end up with violence.

    We’re scared,
    But who can blame us?

You’re killing us with your American Dream,
You’re murdering us with your American Dream,
You’re suffocating us with your American Dream.

    This is your America—
    Not mine.

    We will take back America.
We will take back our freedom
    Or we will die trying.
And that is the American Dream.

  • Biking

    Biking

    Put on my helmet,

    Get on my bike,

    And off I ride.

I feel the rush of the wind pass me by.

I feel free. I feel like I can do anything.

    It’s amazing.

    It’s a great feeling.

I can see the scenery, nature, and what people are doing.

I can go at my own pace, since it is not a race.

I love to ride my bike

  • Karens

    Karens

    They say the craziest shit.

They think being forced to wear masks in stores is a form of oppression.

They get upset when people of color barbecue in parks.

They call the police on the neighbor’s dog.

They choke their pets while telling the police they’re being attacked.

They yell at retail employees if their service is not fast.

They’re everywhere, and they’re a pain in the ass.

It’s ridiculous. There are even male versions of them.

They are the biggest snowflakes imaginable.

They are racist, sexist, insensitive, and privileged.

Moral of the story is: don’t be a Karen.

  • Justice For Floyd

    Justice For Floyd

They killed him in cold blood.

He said he could not breathe.

He was pinned down to the ground.

His neck was crushed by them.

The ones who were “good” just stood there.

The one who directly killed him got charged with third degree murder.

    To me, that’s too lenient.

What was seen in the video, that was murder to the first degree.

Now, there are riots and protests all across the country.

There was no justice for George Floyd when he was killed by that chauvinist chode Chauvin.

People are angry. People are upset. People are infuriated. I am too.

We need to stand in solidarity with Floyd and his family and demand justice for him, and the countless other lives lost due to police brutality.

We need a change. We need a better way of life.

The way things are now, it should not be. We cannot be tolerant of hatred and brutality.

We cannot be accepting of bigotry.

We need a totally new society; one that does not oppress marginalized groups and minorities.

How we will get there, I don’t know.

I hope that we could find peaceful solutions, but at this point, I don’t even know if we could.

What I do know is this: I am not a violent person. I do not want to hurt others, nor do I want others to see others get hurt.

I am a pacifist by nature. If that makes me weak, so be it. Whatever the case, I want to find solutions other than violence.

I can understand the riots and the violence. I even understand the looting. However, I don’t know if all of that is the solution.

What I do know for sure, I demand justice for George Floyd, and the countless other lives lost from police brutality.

  • Shades

    Shades

I used to wear them all the time.

I’d wear them so I could cover my eyes.

At least, that’s what I thought for the longest time.

As years have gone by, I have realized,

Deep down, I was insecure on the inside.

I felt that I needed to wear sunglasses

Because I thought it would somehow boost my confidence.

In reality, that was not the case.

    I was not being honest.

The reality was, I was too scared to let people get to know the real me.

When I put on the shades, I felt like I was a more confident me.

I felt I could do anything.

Without my shades, I felt afraid.

I felt as though people would judge me for being me.

But now, I don’t need them.

    I don’t need a piece of apparel

Or some sort of fashionable eyewear,

To make be a confident individual.

That has to come from within.

I still like wearing shades from time to time,

But now, I am happy with who I am on the inside.

Your reviews bring to light some

    Sociopolitical

    Issues we face on

    A day-to-day basis.

    You are an amazing artist.

    Your work is magnificent.

You are a very talented individual.

I hope that on this day,

    You have a great birthday!

  • Social Distancing

    Social Distancing

    Social distance;

    We need the persistence

    To remain hidden

    From the virus pandemic

    That is sweeping the nations

    And to keep fellow citizens

    Safe from the virulent

    Virus that’s killing

    Without prejudice.

It’s a sad sight to see

    COVID-19

    Destroy families

    And put essential employees

At risk of catching the disease.

    When will this end?

    Who knows when.

  • The World Is On Fire

    The World Is On Fire

The world is on fire. It is currently burning. The temperatures keep on rising. It’s becoming alarming. This changing climate is becoming a crisis, and it’s a crisis that’s very frightening. If we don’t solve this soon, the world could come to an end. Maybe not the planet, but everything that lives in it. There would be no more humans and no more amazing creations. Monumental monuments like The Statue of Liberty would eventually become nothing but dust and debris if humans were to go extinct. Eventually, the same would happen to buildings, and everything else in between. They’d all turn into dust, just like us. If we were not here, anything we created would not matter at all. Anything that was floating in space would come crashing down to the Earth, setting everything ablaze. Eventually, nuclear reactors would start to meltdown, and all of the radiation that’s in them would all get let out.

All of the animals that are alive right now would be on their own, if they were not wiped out. There would probably be a few. Most of them would live underground. The ones that were above ground would most likely all die out if the climate were to get chaotic. They would thrive and populate underneath the Earth’s surface, and eventually they’ll reclaim the surface. Eventually, the radiation would decay, and the greenhouse gases would get replaced, and the planet will heal itself like it had a bad sickness. We won’t be here, and neither would a lot of other species, but there would be new species. They’d be survivors. They would survive us. They could potentially be the ones that reach our level of intellect. They could be reptilian. They could be arachnids. They could even be gigantic cockroaches. Whatever they are, they have the potential to take this planet to the stars if we ourselves don’t get to. They could learn from our mistakes. They could be better than us. They may develop intricate societies that have a diversity of species all living in harmony. It would definitely be an amazing sight to see.

They’d eventually develop space travel, and take us to the Moon. They’d take us to Jupiter and Venus and even Mars, too. They’d even probably take us all the way to Pluto. Who knows? They could possibly take us to see the entire Milky Way! We may discover different species living on other planets, and these species may be as smart as us and them, and have a complex intellect. It would be so cool to see.

The question is, would Earthlings be seen as threats, or will they be welcomed? Is it also possible that they’d be enslaved and treated like pets? There are so many questions that one has to ask when dealing with the possibility of becoming an intergalactic race.

All I do know is, I hope they would learn from our mistakes. If our species dies out, and does not get to see the future, I hope that whatever species in the far distant future that reaches sapience learns from humanity’s own shortcomings and mistakes. That is what I hope if humanity loses all hope.

However, we still have hope. We still have hope to achieve all of those great and amazing things. We could explore the vast reaches of the cosmos and explore all that there is to explore. We could travel to wherever we want to go to, and potentially find a new home. I don’t know. All I do know is that we need to become aware that our climate is changing. Our planet is in need, and we need to save it. There is a way to save it. We need to stop emitting greenhouse gases, and we also need to stop polluting our planet. We need to find an alternative fuel source and stop using oil. We need to make steps to go vegetarian or vegan and make our diets more plant-based. There is so much we need to do. The first thing we should do is educate ourselves. Once we do that, we share the information we learn to others.
