It’s another year,
Another thanksgiving.
We made it.
Let’s take a moment to remember what we lost
And what we still have.
It’s been a wild year.
But today, let’s be thankful for being here
And making it another year.

That topside photo elicits a rather sour “musing” (food for thought?) by me:
Too many billions of our fellow human beings won’t witness or delight in the “irrational exuberance and gluttony” of such a repulsive repast over the collective course of their lifetimes, whether such a lifetime will be cut short at 3 yo by malnutrition/starvation, or at 19 yo by a Muslim Palestinian rendered hopeless by the endless horrors of Zionist persecution and Apartheid and dietary deficiency to the extent of committing-suicide-via-explosive-vest, or at 40 yo by an Egyptian journalist-activist incarcerated for nine years-and-running (25 percent of his “life” subsisting on prison ‘food’), or at 60 yo by the ravages of colonial depredation, racism, wasted organs due to rotting ‘food’ or life-long insufficient health care or the grinding indignities of it all….
(Where’s the 25-pound turkey — white meat, dark meat, neck, gizzard — in the photo?)
